Contemporary Office with Transparent Curved Window

An office has to be comfortable to make us be more creative and enjoy working with bunch of files. Many of us work in urban area with only concrete jungle as far as our eyes can see. Well, urban views can be beautiful also but real forest sure bring more than just fun and exciting atmosphere for us. I always imagine having a small office in suburban area with lots of woods around it. Anyway, let’s stay focus to the main subject. The below architecture project is done by Spanish architecture firm SelgasCano. This contemporary office is located in the middle of woods near Madrid. The office may look a bit usual but the curved transparent windows make it special. The transparent acrylic forms the north-facing wall of the tunnel-like space, offering plenty of natural light to the whole interior. Meanwhile the south-facing wall, the opaque, provides a perfect shade from the direct sunlight. This modern office also offers awesome views from the surrounding green environment that can be enjoyed easily. Completed with a weighted pulley mechanism at one end of the tunnel, the office allows varying degrees of natural ventilation. Besides that benefit, the workers can feel fresher and be more relax with this kind of environment. Well, we hope it will give you another idea to locate your new office building. Space Maximization in Japan: OH House by Atelier Tekuto

The OH House gets its name from the family that will inhabit this unusual, but fascinating looking residence. Designed by Atelier Tekuto (Yasuhiro Yamashita) from Japan, this home is 1,5 meters lower than the road in front and was constructed on unleveled terrain. Even though its exterior seems to state that this home isn’t all that roomy, the architects beg to differ: “Upon entering a space, human eyes unconsciously measures distance from perpendicular lines. Thus the OH residence has multi-sided ceilings which surprise people by feeling bigger inside than the outside”. The owners wanted a peaceful and private place which also meant obstructed views of the interior from the street.Yasuhiro Yamashita says that “even though they answered the client’s request to avoid being seen from the outside, they still made the windows as big as possible”. The interior has a few original ideas worth discovering, such as suspended furniture for extra storage space and a dining table that hangs from the ceiling.-via Designboom

Luxury Neoclassical Hotel, the Palace Hotel in Portorož

This luxury hotel was already built during the time of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and hosted lots of guests from Europe ‘till end of the eighties of the previous century. The Palace Hotel was renovated and expanded to accommodate more guests. The renovation is aimed to show the connection between the stylistically different architectural movements and memory of the past. Finished by Api Arhitekti, the project area measures 28041,00 sqm. This luxury Palace Hotel has a great main façade overlooking the sea with the crystal hall and appertaining salons alongside, the side facades and historic staircase that remains untouched during the renovation. Meanwhile the extension is entirely new, but has a connection to the historic façade. Modern materials are used to build the floor structures, the mansard and the rear façade. Combine some materials such as stone cladding and greenery of the façade, the hotel can perfectly blend with the hills and the sea. Besides that, this amazing hotel is also designed with glass, stone, and steel that could complete the uniqueness of the building. The luxury Palace Hotel could fully show a great connection between old and new architecture. Sure it will be a great place to stay during your vacation in Portorož, Slovenia. Villa Kanousan, Amazing Cube Home in Japan

Built as a getaway for a family working in Tokyo, this incredible project inspired by a cube comes from Yuusuke Karasawa Architects and offers amazing vistas of Kanousan, Japan. The homogeneous feel given by the fact that this house is painted entirely in white is disrupted by the infinitude views that it offers. As soon as one changes his or her observing point, the perspective changes also. Each angle of sight is different, spectacular and totally unexpected. This is definitely a home that will never get its inhabitants tired of exploring. We particularly like the svelte interior staircase which manages to highlight the overall strange but fascinating geometry of this place. What do you think? Would you like to get lost in the immaculate labyrinthic rooms that this type of residence provides?

Fascinating Residence Located Below the Hollywood Sign

Here is a residence with an uncommon, yet fascinating architecture. But its design is not the only unusual aspect of this imposing home. The Deronda Residence comes from Space International and is located in Los Angeles, California,  in the Hollywood Hills “just under the shadow of the Hollywood sign”. Here is more information from the architects: “Utilizing the existing footprint of a previous home, this new residence is comprised of two main rectangular volumes which are shifted off-axis from each another to accentuate the difference in program which lies within. The more public â??livingâ? areas of the house are situated on the ridge of the site, so as to take advantage of flanking outdoor spaces which are designed as extensions of the living dining, and kitchen areas. Large expanses of sliding glass panels connect these spaces to the adjacent terraces and views beyond, inverting the interiority into an open, covered outdoor room.” What do you think? Is this residence a match for its location under the Hollywood Sign?
