The blogosphere is crawling with posts about it, Twitter is lit up and big brands are using the event to their advantage with clever ads. In short, football is trending. Idea On Making The Best Of A Small Apartment

This fascinating one room apartment stretches over an area of only 36 sqm, yet it is very smartly organized. The walls are painted in white which is actually the basic rule for increasing the feeling of space into a small home. The plan of this beautiful looking loft is quite simple: it has one room plus kitchen which was ingeniously transformed into a cooking-living-working place, a hallway and a bathroom. Vivid colors are present throughout this small apartment, while obeying by the rules of aesthetics. A large red sofa is placed in the living room which also acts like a double bed when needed. Large windows allow unobstructed views of the green environment and also ensure a good natural ventilation. Even though this crib is really small, in the pictures below it seems that we are looking at a large, airy and spacious apartment. It sure got us fooled.- via Alvhem

Zip-Up Chair by Kim In-bo

The Zip-Up Chair is a cool piece of furniture designed by Kim In-bo. This chair was intended for small apartments that demand functional furniture, but I can also see it in a mansion. I’m pretty sure that a lot of people will call this idea as stupid or kitch but I see it as fun. Zip open, turn down a few swabs and park your posterior onto an impromptu stool. What do you think about this idea ? Cool or stupid ? – Via – YankoDesign

Small Home with a Simple and Smart Design in Germany

Jakob Bader Architecture have completed this small but very smart house design in Munich-Unterfoehring, Germany. Even though it features some “green” technologies, such as a geothermal pump and air ventilation systems, “House V” is not looked at as sustainable project, but more as a smart one with a low maintenance costs.  The home does not have an indoor garage, but features a very original covered parking spot. Its red exterior makes it stand out and creates a fascinating contrast with the environment. Here is more information on the design plans from the architects: “The living spaces are to the north enclosed on three sides by glass and outside by the garden. Here the planning of the house becomes obvious. The open living room, kitchen and dining spaces are arranged like a Basilica with the kitchen at the centre, the high alter of our time. The main bedroom and hidden terrace directly above the living room in the loft, are reminiscent of a winter-garden: from the bed one can observe the starry night sky, snow flakes or aeroplanes“.

Extravagant Interior Design Ideas from Gary Spain

Gary Spain is a creative artist from San Francisco whose interior design portfolio draw our attention. In the pictures below you have some of his projects and we are eager to find out what you think about them. We notice two different approaches: simple and classy versus extravagant. We would like to concentrate more on the second type of interiors, as they stand out and contribute to the designer’s distinctive personality. Flashy colors and wacky decorative elements are the “salt and pepper” of these interiors. The wallpapers have interesting patterns and some of them go well with the rugs on the floors. Paintings are everywhere complementing unusual wall decorations such as stag heads and giant clocks.-via Desire to Inspire
