Villa Kanousan, Amazing Cube Home in Japan

Built as a getaway for a family working in Tokyo, this incredible project inspired by a cube comes from Yuusuke Karasawa Architects and offers amazing vistas of Kanousan, Japan. The homogeneous feel given by the fact that this house is painted entirely in white is disrupted by the infinitude views that it offers. As soon as one changes his or her observing point, the perspective changes also. Each angle of sight is different, spectacular and totally unexpected. This is definitely a home that will never get its inhabitants tired of exploring. We particularly like the svelte interior staircase which manages to highlight the overall strange but fascinating geometry of this place. What do you think? Would you like to get lost in the immaculate labyrinthic rooms that this type of residence provides?

Lounge Chair Combined With Rug

The Loop Chair is the world’s only hybrid of a lounge chair and a rug. It’s probably also the world’s coziest lounge chair too. The chair is designed by Dutch design student, Sophie de Vocht, and made of 1,000 feet of yarn pulled though a tough metal wire mesh. The seat cover is made with using a designer’s hand-tufting technique. Crossing a carpet and a chair allows to use the warmth and the comfort of a carpet in a different way. At the moment the Loop Chair isn’t for sale but it’s going to be next year thanks to Italian company Casmania.

Beautiful Balconies

Whether you rent or own and live in the city or suburbs, balconies are a great addition to any building. They provide the perfect transition between the indoors and the wilderness, and add a marvelous architectural element to a space.

The word balcony is Italian and comes from the word Balcone which means scaffold. Technically it is simply a platform that is protected by balustrades or a rail. The cool thing about balconies is that they have historically been used as a soap box or stage, to hold ceremonies or public announcements. And now the modern day balcony is much more informal, dynamic and spacious. A place for pontification, relaxation, sun bathing, a breath of fresh air, a different perspective of the what lies ahead, and maybe even a love connection. Let’s face it, if there was no balcony there would be no Romeo and Juliet… or at least their story wouldn’t have been so fantastic!

Below are some really cool balconies that express different styles and functions. Some of which can easily slip you into relaxation mode for a whole afternoon or electrify you by their striking views of the landscape. Either way you’ll surely marvel, so enjoy…

Decorating Apartment in Green Theme

We are familiar with various attractive interior décor on Homedug and now we’d give you another cool design which was also a finalist in Apartment Therapy’s Small, Cool 2010 Contest. For you who desire to create a fresh look to the interior décor, this apartment design will be perfect solution. The apartment is shaded in green as the main color. But it also covered with neutral color that could perfectly blend with the green and make it stay away from boring. You may not see all green walls or all green furniture on the images because green is only presented in some objects. In the living room you could find green wall and cozy couch that is also in soft green. Other furniture like writing table, reading chair, dining table and some home accessory such as curtains are also showed in green. The apartment could perfectly show green in various angles without making you get sick with too many green. We think that it is cozy and fresh design, more pictures at Airbnb.

Decorative Bath Accessories - unusual bathroom accessories by Galassia

Decorative Bath Accessories - unusual bathroom accessories by Galassia

You could say these cool decorative bath accessories have a hand up! Meg is a line of unusual bathroom accessories by Galassia with a funky edge. The design is rooted in nature, but finished with contemporary flair. Cool, clean white ceramic stays true to a traditional bathroom favorite, but their motifs are totally innovative and unexpected. Soap dishes take the form of an outstretched hand and toilet-paper holders are modeled after a hand gripping a stick, while hooks and pulls become branches with a modern, whimsical appeal. Whether your bathroom is minimalist white or maximalist in color, materials and texture, these decorative bath accessories are a great complement. More information is available at Galassia.

Transparent Blue Vase That Can Be Composed Like A Bouquet

Those who liked these contemporary indoor ponds but don’t wanna care about living plants and fishes would definitely like the combinatorial Bloomingbless vase. It’s designed by Benjamin Graindorge for Cinna and consists of 3 simple pieces: two hand blown blue glass vases and a bottomless ring surrounding these two vases. That, and transparency of these three pieces, make the Bloomingbless a vase that can be composed like a bouquet. Besides, it allows it to hold bouquets of different sizes. The blue color of the vase makes water inside it almost invisible. You only can see its surface that separates the vase.

Glass Facade Reveals Architecturally Sculpted Home

This urban modern house was designed by Bassam el Okeily and Karla Menten in Bilzen, Belgium. The architects did an amazing job bringing a transparent mysteriousness to the facade of this home which is made entirely of glass and behind it layered and protruding angles, cut outs for the two balconies. Their philosophy is rooted with the concept of suspending time to strip environments down and appreciate the beauty of simplicity. This idea is translated with the abstract image of broken mirror pieces paused in mid-air. Pretty deep stuff! And the result is a sculptural masterpiece behind a home front that created an ultra modern and moody statement by the multi-colored lighting scheme and peek-a-boo effect from the street. I guess we simpletons can think of it as a grand foyer, or simply an artistic distraction on an otherwise normal residential street! Also we aren’t completely sure what percentage of rooms in this house allow its residents some sort of privacy, but looking at some of the interior images we wouldn’t get too worried.
